Key Insights from the EFC Clinic
The Employers’ Federation of Ceylon (EFC) conducted its 3rd Clinic for the year 2024 on the 13th of September 2024, at the EFC Auditorium, Rajagiriya. This initiative aimed to empower member companies by addressing Labour Law, Industrial Relations & HR Management challenges in an engaging & collaborative environment.
The clinic led by the Director General of the EFC, Mr. Vajira Ellepola, provided an informal yet impactful platform for representatives of member companies to discuss & clarify any issues relating to Labour Law and Industrial Relations.
The session provided insights into the recent amendments to the Shop and Office Employees (Regulation of Employment and Remuneration) Act and Provisions related to granting leave for voting during the Presidential Election. Further the discussion addressed key clauses recommended for inclusion in Letters of appointment focusing on areas such as remuneration, suspension of services & retirement age.
The clinic concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, where participants had the opportunity to seek clarification on the topics discussed or raise queries on other aspects pertaining employment law.
The EFC’s initiative reaffirmed its commitment to supporting employers by enhancing their understanding of evolving regulatory framework and fostering effective workplace management practices.
